THERE IS ONLY SO MUCH YOU CAN HAVE AND ENJOY AT ANY GIVEN TIME
I recently attended a luncheon with a buffet setup. The menu consisted of about 15 chaffing dishes all filled with deliciously prepared food.
As I went to serve myself, I faced a challenge in deciding what to put on my plate as there was plenty of food. I decided to check each chaffing dish before selecting what to put on my plate. I had two challenges by the time I completed checking namely, the plate couldn’t accommodate the food I wanted, and my stomach could only allow for so much.
In the end, I simply got what I could manage to fill on the plate and finish. I could see people struggle to fill up their plates and barely managed to eat half of what they got not out of their willingness but because there was only so much, they could handle.
You only have one mouth, and the ‘tummy’ can only take it in so much at a time and once it’s filled anything extra is not to your advantage.
As this whole episode was unfolding, I thought about how this scenario plays out in other areas of my life. No matter how many clothes you have, you can only wear one at a time, similarly with shoes, watches, etc. No matter how many houses you have, you can only live in one at a time. No matter how many cars you have, you can only drive one at a time. You can only be at one place at a time, one experience at a time.
Like our stomachs limit our need for extra food, time may limit our opportunities to do all the things we may want to do and have. It’s far better to be content with the little you may feel you have at a particular time in your life if it sustains you. Be content with the job you have, car you drive or house you live in than being sad wishing you had more.
After all, the present is not the ceiling of your life but merely moment in time which will pass allowing for more to be added to your life.
The solution is not more things but to be happy with what you have while in pursuit of what you want.
Awesome!.... I one hundred percent conquer.....
